We are Iris & Han Bonink-Lammers. We were both born in 1963. After having lived almost our entire lives in Amsterdam, we now moved to a village north of Lelystad in the Netherlands.

Iris used to work in several "doggie" jobs before she started working in IT and bred two litters of Belgian Tervureren and one litter of Papillon some 20 years ago. The last 15 years we loved and bred Ragdoll cats, but our love of dogs never faded.

When we saw our beloved Tuvok on the site of the Dutch Sheltie Rescue, we decided to adopt him and we're overjoyed that we did, he's the greatest. Then, since Iris was not working for several months due to some physical problems, we decided we had the time to raise a puppy-girlfriend for Tuvok.

As Iris had showed, bred and trained dogs in the past, we wanted the puppy to be showquality and perhaps in the future become the foundation bitch of a line of Rainbow Glory Shelties. We hoped to find the perfect puppy for all these purposes at Green Paradise shelties in Germany, but unfortunately she has grown too big for the showring. However we feel very lucky Marion and Theo granted us such a nice sweet puppy.

2023

Actually, the heather had almost finished blooming on September 24, but I still found a bush that was still blooming a little. T'Pau was not there, because she is with her puppies. We had a wonderful day on the heath near Ermelo. From left to right you see Leeta, Imzadi, Keyla, Nyota, Rishon and Perrin. They're looking straight into the sun, so they squint a little.

Of course we took another spring photo this year. On March 23 it was dry for 1 day between many many many days of rain, so first we cleaned up all the dogs and then went to the daffodil field. From left to right you see T'Pau, Leeta, Imzadi, Nyota, Rishon and Keyla and Perrin is in front of them.

2022

Like every year (before covid) I had a nice picture taken at the garden centre by Digitaalfoto.com. The only thing I regret, is that they don't look straight at the camera. I'll have to remember to ask him that next year.

We have received wonderful gifts from several new owners of our latest puppies. On the left is a gorgeous drawing by Angela & Nino and on the right an incredibly intricate design of tiny nails and thread on a wooden board, made by Thera Schouten, daughter of Ineke and Eldert with whom our puppy Kaila lives.

This autumny picture I took with my mobile phone on the 24th of October. The ladies squint their eyes a little, as they are looking into the sun. Left to right it's Imzadi, T'Pau, Nyota, Rishon, Keyla en Leeta. Kesha sadly went over the rainbow bridge very unexpectedly the 9th of September.

On the 19th July Jolanda Boelhouwers-Diederik took these nice pictures of our girls for her dogphotography study. We are very happy with these pictures.

Ron Baltus took these pictures at the Young Dogs Day of the Dutch Sheltieclub, the 4th of June 2022.

At Animal Event Versele Laga took free pictures, so of course we all had to pose for that.

Our Citroen Berlingo apparently doesn't like to drive the short distances to the forest several times a day, because he has been messing with his sootfilter and adjoining components for several months now. Nowadays he is at the garage more often than in front of our house. Therefore we bought a special foresttaxi for the short distances, a 15-year-old Suzuki Wagon. Hopefully it will keep on working for a while. The girls do fit in it fine and can even lie down.

With all this rain lately I got so tired of seven soaked dogs in the house several times a day, that I finally bought 7 little raincoats. They did have to get used to it, especially that you can still pee whilst wearing a coat, but they are ok with them now.

2021

Kesha (above) is here 8,5 months old. In the picture on the middle left, Imzadi (1 year old) and Leeta (8,5 months old) run after each other. Kesha and Leeta idolize Imzadi and they do everything Imzadi does. Imzadi is very sweet to them and always plays very gently with them.

Rishon is now 10,5 years old.

I went to the West of Holland for a photoshoot and while there we went to the beach for the first time in the lives of the three youngest girls. They all enjoyed it immensensely and even mater familias Rishon was induced to play by the young ones. Being the 27th of October, it was not a clear sunny day, but it was not raining or cold, only very windy.

The 25th of August we took this nice picture on the heather with the sheep in the background. As you can see, Keyla remained with us and will hopefully have a litter with us in the spring. T'Pau was not with us in this picture, because she couldn't leave her 2-week-old puppies for that long.

For the first time I went to the Waterloopbos with the whole pack. It was very nice to see, it was just not so practical (but understandable) that dogs weren't allowed off-leash there.

On our 12th wedding anniversary day (5 July) we went with Nyota, Imzadi and the little ones to the zoo.

Finally the 26th of March the weather was nice, I had time for it, the daffodils wer (still) in bloom and I figured out how to take a picture of the girls without help from Han, who finally started at a new job the 1st of March. About a month ago, Hoshi moved to Belgium to live with a very nice family with a 2 year old Sheltie boy and a grand old lady Border Collie. As usual I couldn't choose which would be thé springpicture, so there's 2. It will anyway be another year without nice outings and vacations at which to take nice pictures of the dogs, so we can do with a little extra joyous spring. In the top picture left to right are Imzadi, Keyla, Nyota, Rishon and T'Pau and on the bottom picture only Keyla and Imzadi switched places.

On the left picture it's Keyla and T'Pau in the snow on the 17th of January and on the right Keyla and T'Pau are looking on as I take pictures of another dog the 9th of January 2021. Keyla and T'Pau are half sisters through their father and aunt and niece through their mothers. Still they are very different as you can see, also in temperament by the way.

2020

This was our Christmas card this year. The little verse translates sort of like: "Sparks (of hope), sometimes they are big, sometimes they are small. You don't have to search for them, you can be them yourself." Of course it looses its message a bit in the translation.

In the campingstore in Ermelo dogs are only allowed when in the shopping cart. We have too many dogs now for 1 shopping cart. Nyota was at home because she's expecting puppies.

The autumn picture on the heather in bloom. I had to photoshop Nyota in the picture from the autumn picture of last year, because she was so very pregnant that we didn't want to let her ride in the car for so long. Left to right it's Nyota, Hoshi, Keyla, T'Pau and Rishon.

For the dogschool where I teach, I had to have a picture of me with our dogs. This sunny picture was taken by Han in June.

The spring picture of 2020, taken at the 25th of February. 6 Days earlier Hoshi came back to live with us and immediately felt at home again.

The Newyears's walk of the Dutch Sheltie club the 11th of January 2020. It was great fun to see Feije (brother of Keyla on the far right) and Hoshi (next to Feije) and their respective families again. After the walk we went on a little Rainbow Glory walk of our own to let the dogs run together for a bit.

2019

Every year in November we have the picture of our dogs taken by Digitaalfoto.com.

Together with my friend Jolande (who also attributed some of her pictures), we participated in a sponsorwalk for the Guidedogs for the blind organization. Obviously the theme was Haloween and we were dressed as true Rainbow Glory girls. Keyla stayed home with daddy, cause she doesn't like crowds so much.

The girls could even trick-or-treat, which they did with zesto.

Every once in a while we walk and have lunch in the forrest in the center of Holland, with my friend Lia and her dogs.

23rd of August we went on a great boatride to Enkhuizen. It was gorgeous weather.

Every year in May we take the girls to Animal Event and participate in all sorts of nice workshops.

2018

Of course the girls had to pose at the Christmasdisplay in the gardencentre. Coincidentally on this day 14 years ago our darling Tervueren Myrna passed away.

This cute picture was taken by Kim at the old peoples home where we come with the petting team. Kim always brings her children and Mare was just as curious where I had been as the dogs (getting Keyla from the car).

Every year in October we have a nice picture taken of our girls.

There pictures are of several differrent zoo visits in the summer. In June (upper left) we went with our mother (in law) Ans. Fortunately there are several zoo's in the Netherlands and just across the border in Germany, where you can bring your dogs inside.

In 2018 we had a nice magnetical sticker made for the car.

These happy pictures have a sad aftertaste for us, as the day after this glorious day on the beach, our darling Ailey went over the Rainbow Bridge unexpectedly after a terrible epilepsy attack. We miss her terribly.

For whatever reason in 2018 we took 2 spring pictures. Evidently the first one wasn't nice enough.

This picture was taken the 26th of March 2018. Left to right are Rishon, Nyota, Ailey and Hoshi (5 maonths old).

These pictures were all taken in February. Hoshi is here about 3,5 months old.

We went on a little trip, where we could bring just one dog. As Rishon was in heat, we took her with us and the others could stay with Debbie who has the father and halfbrothers of Nyota. Debbie shot this nice picture of all of them.

In January we visited Jet and her Toby (son of Nyota). Of course the ladies had to pose at the local hunebed (dolmen).

2017

Unbelievably there was enough snow in December for the neighbourhood kids to make a snowman.

The picture on the right is one of the first paintings I made at a painterscourse.

These pictures were all taken on the first "Rainbow Glory Day" 26 Maart 2017. We took a walk, had a great lunch and then we all enjoyed several games. Of course we also took a group picture. It was a great day which we sure would like to repeat, allthough up till now (June 2020) it hasn't happened yet.

Apparently also in 2017 it was necessary to take 2 spring pictures.

In January/February it showed as well.

2016

All these pictures are of petting sessions at several different elderly homes.

In October Jet and Toby came to visit.

And in September it was Liam's turn, son of Rishon and litterbrother of Nyota.

In September was the Western Region clubday of the Dutch Sheltie Club (NSV). This was a great day, sepecially since three of our puppies and their families joined us there. We started with a nice walk, and after lunch with all the Rainbow Glory's there were all kinds of nice games (hoopers, agility, balancing). Also we had an opportunity to see if our Shelties had a talent for their work of origin, herding sheep.

2015

At Halloween the dogclub organised a veeeery scary puzzlewalk. Of course the inner human and dog were not forgotten. We had a great time with my friend Jolande and her dogs Pablo and Sallos

In September we had a nice walk in Heemstede.

2014

July 2014

In April 2014 we attended a workshop Sheepherding to see if our dogs had any talent for their original work. Rishon only liked the sheepmanure, but the sheep themselves hardly interesting. Nyota at 6 months of age however was realy talented, she circled the sheep like a pro. Still, we are not going to develop that talent further for fear she will not leave sheep we pass on walks alone anymore.

These are the last pictures with our best friend Tuvok. A few days after these pictures were taken, he crossed the rainbow bridge, on January 22nd 2014, to our great sorrow.

2013

These pictures are of our vacation 2013, at our favourite campsite in Ermelo. Left top is a steam train festival in Beekbergen. The picture above was taken at a winery.

2012

In these pictures Rishon is 10 months old. Enjoying the spring in the Amsterdamse Bos. Early morning, hence the beautiful color sunlight. Of course with her, and our best friend Tuvok.

2011

On the right is our christmascard of 2011. Rishon is 6,5 months old here. We no longer have to tie her to Tuvok to have her sit and stay.
